image hostnig and traffic costs

All you who run image/file hosting sites that have a heavy load. Can you cover the traffic cost with just ads?

Is it enough or do you find your self having to pay out of your own pocket each month?

I understand that not many people click on those ads but some do, is that number however small it may be enough for you to keep running or do you keep running in hope that in future ads will be able to cover the trafic costs and even give you some income?

I'm posting here since I have not yet bought the script (I plan to) so I hope someone of forums users will see this and answer here :)

It all depends on the traffic. If you have big traffic you might have some revenue and might be able to cover server costs. Without traffic there is nothing.

Its also depends on where the traffic is from .. some traffic pays more then others.

With bad traffic you will be running at a loss ... decent to good traffic you are looking at maybe .. maybe 1$ per 1K unique per day.

This are my rough estimates .. so don't go and take a second mortgage on the house or something silly like that.
